Mayal Food

A full food-delivery marketplace in the Uber Eats mould — customer, restaurant and driver apps plus two dashboards, conceived in 2016.

Mayal Food was Mayaal's own product, and the most architecturally complete thing the company built: a full food-delivery marketplace conceived in 2016, when the model was still new to the region.

It was a five-surface platform — a customer app for discovery and ordering, a restaurant app for accepting and preparing orders, a driver app for dispatch and delivery tracking, and two dashboards, one for restaurants and one for platform administration. Order management ran end to end across all five.

Customers found restaurants nearby, filtered by cuisine, browsed menus and paid online or cash on delivery, with table reservations and venue galleries alongside. The system design, service architecture and database design were owned in-house. Launch was prepared for Jordan and Sudan.
